WHEN THE “DRAGON WARRIORS” CONVERGE
Dragon Runner is a special category for athletes with outstanding achievements in the marathon and half-marathon distances, bringing together top Vietnamese and international athletes at the 2027 Da Nang International Marathon. Compete alongside them on Da Nang’s iconic coastal course, where speed, grit, and the ultimate competitive spirit converge.
APPLY FOR DRAGON RUNNER
The Da Nang International Marathon 2027 welcomes athletes who have met the qualifying standards to register for the Dragon Runner program.
Places are limited. Applications will be reviewed based on eligible race results, and runners will be selected according to their verified finishing times, from fastest to slowest.
Registration close: 11:59 PM (ICT) on 31 October 2026
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To register as a Dragon Runner, participants must have achieved a qualifying personal result at a road race held on a course certified by AIMS/World Athletics or a National Athletics Federation.
MARATHON – 42KM
- Male: completion time under 2 hours 45 minutes
- Female: completion time under 3 hours 25 minutes
HALF MARATHON – 21KM
- Male: completion time under 1 hour 20 minutes
- Female: completion time under 1 hour 30 minutes
Please note:
– Qualifying results must be recorded at a domestic or international marathon with an official chip-timing system – based on net time from the start line to the finish line – and achieved between 1 October 2025 and 1 October 2026.
– To verify a qualifying result, participants must submit an E-Certificate along with a link to the organizing website’s official results page for that race.
– The Organizer does not accept results from Virtual Runs.
Dragon Runner is designed to provide the best racing conditions for athletes aiming for top results at the Da Nang International Marathon 2027, with exclusive benefits:
– Complimentary entry to participate in the Dragon Runner category at the Da Nang International Marathon 2027;
– Priority race kit collection;
– Access to the elite start zone at the front of the race;
– Personal profile featured on the official event website;
– Opportunity to be featured on the event’s Facebook page and other social media channels;
– Exclusive recognition and benefits reserved for Dragon Runners.
The Organizer will verify all submitted results and review applications. If the number of registrations exceeds the available quota, applicants will be selected based on their qualifying times, from fastest to slowest.
Confirmation will be sent within approximately 45 days after registration is completed and all required documents have been submitted.
